Maíz is part of the “Three Sisters” – alongside squash and beans, a trifecta of staple crops grown by the Indigenous people of North America. Maíz was central to the sustainability of Indigenous cultures dating as far back as the Archaic period - and continues to be a staple.

Having grown up in New Mexico from a deeply rooted ancestry in the area since before it was “new”, corn is a symbol of that cultural history and story. This piece celebrates the importance of corn in indigenous cultures and our daily lives.

Also, corn is just really, really good! Elote! Roasted! Tortillas! There’s nothing she doesn’t do :)

Available in oxidized sterling silver.

Hand-carved sterling corn charm (1/4” x 3/4”), strung on an 18” sterling silver 1.2 mm figaro chain. Slight variations in each charm casting should be expected.
