Handcrafted by Peruvian artist Sadith Silvano in Lima, Peru.
Sadith incorporates the urban influences from the streets of her adopted home in Lima with the iconography of her Shipibo tradition. Her artwork is the manifestation of this clash of indigenous and European society, modern style and ancient culture.
Shipibo designs are the materialization of the visions and language of the Amazonian people interpreted through the ritual of Ayahuasca. The intricate embroidery expresses Shipibo cultural beliefs and their connection to nature and energy through such symbols as the Ayahuasca flower, the teeth of the piranha, the path of the anaconda, and the mother's womb.
