Vintage Sheep Wool Poncho - Magenta

This one of a kind poncho was handmade in the Sacred Valley of Cusco, Peru.  This poncho is an antique piece handwoven from sheep wool, its earned a unique patina from years of use.

Weavers in the Andes use cochineal for color red and some variaties. Depending on the fixatives that are used during the dyeing process, cochineal can be used to produce a wide range of shades, including bright red, pink and purple.

Dimensions: 54” width by 27” half length.
This poncho is heavy meant to be used for warmth.
