Collection: Olinda Silvano - Peru - Shipibo Art
Olinda is a strong woman with a big heart, representing Peru and her indigenous Shipibo culture through her art and advocacy. As a leader in her community, she works to preserve and promote her ancient culture within a modern, urban context.
Her designs are a manifestation of the visions, cosmology, and language of the Shipibo-Konibo community, interpreted through the sacred ritual of Ayahuasca. The intricate patterns are either embroidered or painted using living dyes derived from forest soil and the bark of ancient trees. Each piece expresses Shipibo cultural beliefs and the deep connection to nature and energy, using sacred symbols like the Ayahuasca flower, the path of the anaconda, and the mother's womb.
"I aim to honor my people’s traditions and share our deep connection to nature and culture with the world." - Olinda Silvano
