This listing is for a real pressed plant and botanical specimen. Inspired by herbarium specimens, it is an artistic presentation of Scarlet beeblossom (Gaura coccinea), also known as scarlet gaura, is a perennial wildflower with slender stems and bright red, four-petaled flowers that flutter in the breeze like delicate butterflies. Its long-blooming flowers attract hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies, providing an important nectar source in prairies, meadows, and open woodlands. The plant’s narrow, lance-shaped leaves form a low rosette, adding subtle greenery to its native habitats. Collected in the mixed conifer forests in the Jemez Mountains of New Mexico.
The plant is mounted on acid-free, high-quality (320 gsm), watercolor paper handmade in India. A collection label is also included with the specimen scientific name, common name, family name, location and date collected.
