Collection: Lastenia Canayo ~ Pecon Quena - Peru
Lastenia Canayo is a contemporary artist and cultural ambassador from the Shipibo-Konibo indigenous community, located along the Ucayali River in the Peruvian Amazon. Her native name, Pecon Quena, translates to "the one who calls the colors."
A world-renowned artist, Lastenia works across multiple media, including ceramics, embroidery, carving, and painting. Her work conveys the deep ancestral knowledge of her community, reflecting a sacred connection between humans and the environment. The pieces she creates symbolize the protective spirits of plants and animals that safeguard the rainforest, preserving the balance of nature.
"Through my art, I aim to honor the spirits of the forest and share the wisdom of my ancestors to maintain the sacred relationship between all living beings." - Lastenia Canayo
