This vintage poncho was handmade from sheep wool in the Andes Mountains of Cusco, Peru. It was hand woven on a waist loom and has earned a unique patina from years of use. The colors come from vegetable dyes and the patterns tell the story of the weaver’s culture, community, and dreams. The vibrant shades of red and pink in this piece are produced by the cochineal beetle.
