Handbuilt ceramic bird bowl from the Peruvian Amazon. Sandra Panduro is a master ceramic artist form the Shipibo-Konibo Indigenous community near Pucallpa, Peru. These pieces are each one of a kind and represent the different animal spirits that protect the rainforest. Sandra collects the clay and pit fires the pieces and uses colored clay to paint them with the sacred patterns characteristic of her community. The handprinted designs represent the ayahuasca visions that are central to the cosmology and culture of this ancient civilization.
